Tittle: Grant and Compliance Officer

Location Borno

Duration of Contract: 6 Months
Reporting to: Executive Director

Role Purpose:

The Grant and Compliance Officer ensures successful implementation of projects in accordance with grant agreements and donor requirements. The role holder monitors compliance with all contractual obligations, manages grant documentation, and ensures adherence to organizational policies. The officer will contribute 20% of their time to project implementation.

Scope of Role:

Reports to: Executive Director
Dotted Line: Program Manager

Key Areas of Accountability:

Grant Management

  • Maintain grant agreements and documentation
  • Ensure project implementation aligns with grant terms
  • Track grant conditions and requirements
  • Support grant reporting and documentation

Compliance Monitoring

  • Monitor compliance with donor requirements and regulations
  • Conduct compliance assessments and audits
  • Prepare compliance reports and updates
  • Develop and implement compliance procedures

Documentation and Record Keeping

  • Maintain comprehensive grant documentation
  • Ensure proper filing and organization of grant materials
  • Prepare compliance documentation for audits
  • Support regulatory reporting

Risk Management and Issue Resolution

  • Identify compliance risks and issues
  • Escalate concerns to Executive Director
  • Support corrective action implementation
  • Document compliance actions taken

Coordination and Communication

  • Liaise with donors on compliance matters
  • Communicate compliance requirements to staff
  • Coordinate audit and monitoring visits
  • Support donor relations on compliance issues

General:

  • Carry out any other compliance-related duties as decided by the Executive Director
  • Comply with and promote all CFCI policies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Law, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in grant management or compliance
  • Fluency in verbal and written English and local languages

Experience Required:

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in grant management, compliance, or regulatory affairs in non-profit organizations
  • Strong knowledge of NGO compliance requirements and regulations in Nigeria
  • Experience with donor compliance monitoring and reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of humanitarian and development sector regulations
  • Strong ethical commitment and integrity
  • Commitment to organizational compliance and accountability
  • Valid Driving Licence
