In Northeast Nigeria and more specifically in Borno State, MI is currently active in the WASH sector for improving the lives of both the IDP population as well as the host communities. The WASH activities focus on improved access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene. They include NFI distribution, solarization of boreholes, rehabilitation of hand pumps, construction of latrines and hygiene promotion. In Northeast Nigeria and more specifically in Borno, Taraba and Adamawa States, MI is currently active in the WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), Protection and FNSL sectors for saving and improving the lives of both the IDP/refugee populations as well as the host communities. The WASH activities focus on improved access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene, including NFI distribution, solarization of boreholes, rehabilitation of hand pumps, construction of latrines, and hygiene promotion. The protection activities focus on prevention and response to Gender Based Violence (GBV)  cases.

Job Title: Logistics Assistant 

Location: Katsina 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall support for logistics management at the Katsina location
  • Assist in implementing procurement and logistics procedures in line with organizational and donor regulations
  • Support preparation and processing of procurement documents, including bids and purchase requests
  • Follow up on Goods Received Notes (GRN) and Job Completion Certificates from program teams
  • Maintain proper filing systems and documentation for all logistics and procurement activities
  • Manage warehouse/store operations and ensure regular asset tagging and inventory updates
  • Coordinate vehicle requests, travel arrangements, and other logistical needs as required by the supervisor

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Procurement, Business Administration, and or any related field of discipline
  • Minimum of 2–3 years relevant experience, preferably in an NGO or development sector
  • Basic knowledge of stock counts, assets, inventories, and fleet management
  • Individuals from Katsina State are encouraged to apply

What we offer:

  • Start Date: This role is intended for an upcoming project, subject to funding
  • Duty Station: Katsina, Katsina State, Nigeria
  • Duration of contract: 10 months
  • Salary expectation: Salary according to the MI salary scale
