Grants Officer at WePlanet – Drive Global Environmental Change through Strategic Fundraising
Job Title: Grants Officer
Location: Fully Remote (Worldwide)
Closing Date: 14th June 2026
Contract: Full-time, 2-year fixed term
The Grants Officer will be integral to WePlanet’s ambitions by managing and expanding its grants portfolio, building systems for effective grant management, and supporting fundraising initiatives.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to craft compelling proposals, steward funder relationships, and enhance WePlanet’s strategic fundraising infrastructure.
This full-time, remote role is open to candidates worldwide, with an ideal overlap with European working hours (CET/GMT)
Key Responsibilities
Grant Portfolio and Relationship Management
- Oversee a diverse grants portfolio from trusts, foundations, and institutions
- Maintain oversight of reporting schedules, compliance, and renewal deadlines
- Draft persuasive proposals, support documents, and progress reports
- Develop and nurture relationships with mid-tier funders
- Assist in identifying new funding opportunities to diversify income streams
- Collaborate with digital fundraising teams to engage high-net-worth individuals
Major Proposal Development
- Partner with leadership on large foundation and donor proposals
- Lead the drafting of smaller and mid-tier grant applications
- Manage operational aspects of major donor stewardship, including meetings and reporting
- Prepare materials for pitches, prospect research, and post-meeting follow-up
Systems and Processes
- Maintain accurate records within CRM and grant management systems
- Build and optimize systems within Microsoft environment (Teams, Power BI)
- Manage the full grant reporting and renewal cycle, ensuring timely submissions
- Keep leadership informed of progress toward targets and deadlines
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum of two years’ experience in grant writing, trusts, foundations, or related roles
- Proven track record with US, UK, or European funders
- Excellent English writing skills, capable of translating complex science into compelling narratives
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Familiarity with data, budgets, and financial reporting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and Power BI
- Alignment with WePlanet’s ecomodernist values
- Ability to work independently in a remote, international team
Desirable
- Experience in environmental, climate, or international development NGOs
- Knowledge of CRMs or grant management systems
- Experience in startup environments or fundraising for early-stage projects
- Additional European languages
