Location: Niger, Jigawa, Kano, Kebbi & Sokoto

 

 

About the Job 

Our client is seeking to engage a suitably qualified Malaria SBCC Specialist to implement context-specific malaria social and behaviour change communication (SBCC) and community engagement interventions at state level, strengthening community awareness, demand for malaria prevention and services, early care-seeking, referrals, and adoption of priority malaria prevention and treatment practices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement SBCC activities to promote malaria prevention, early care-seeking, testing, and treatment.
  • Engage community structures including government teams, leaders, CHWs, and volunteers to strengthen malaria awareness and referrals.
  • Coordinate community mobilisation with available malaria services and commodities to support effective demand generation.
  • Monitor SBCC performance using programme data and community feedback to improve messaging and interventions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Behavioural/Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in SBCC, health communication, or community engagement, preferably in malaria programmes.
  • Experience engaging government and community stakeholders, including CHWs, leaders, LGAS, and SBCC structures.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills to support tailored messaging and community mobilisation.
  • Ability to use data and community feedback to improve SBCC targeting and messaging.
