Job Title: Sustainability Specialist

Location: Niger, Jigawa, Kano, Kebbi & Sokoło

 

About the Job 

Our client is seeking to engage a suitably qualified Sustainability Specialist to operationalise the malaria sustainability and transition agenda at state level by strengthening government ownership, institutional capacity, financing, and handover of programme-supported functions, ensuring sustainable integration of priority malaria interventions into government systems, plans, budgets, and coordination structures.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess state capacity across malaria service delivery, data, supply chain, SBCC, and coordination functions.
  • Develop and track transition plans, scorecards, milestones, and government ownership targets
  • Support integration of malaria priorities into state/LGA plans, budgets, and institutional responsibilities.
  • Monitor transition progress and risks, coordinate stakeholders, and document lessons, commitments, and handover outcomes.

 

Requirements:

  • BSC degree in Public Health, Health Economics, Health Policy, Public Administration, Development Studies, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in health systems strengthening, governance, planning. financing, sustainability, or related areas.
  • Government engagement experience, particularly working with state health, planning, and budgeting structures.
  • Strong stakeholder and facilitation skills, with the ability to build government ownership and coordinate diverse partners.
  • Knowledge of malaria sustainability and transition, including costing, milestone tracking, and documentation.
