About the role
- To lead the finance function, ensuring sound financial management, accurate reporting, effective controls and the financial sustainability of the hospital, in line with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
- Ensure accurate, timely financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.
- Establish and maintain internal financial controls, and support internal and external audit.
- Oversee treasury, cash flow, payables, receivables and the revenue cycle (including managed-care billing and collections).
- Ensure compliance with tax and statutory financial obligations.
- Advise management on financial performance, risk and sustainability.
- Lead, supervise and develop finance staff.
- Support procurement and contract financial governance.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline. Completion of NYSC, or a valid exemption where applicable.
Experience:
- Substantial experience in financial management and accounting, including at a senior level. Experience leading a finance function and managing financial reporting and controls. Experience with audit, budgeting and treasury.
Required skills:
- Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting standards and internal controls.
- Ability to lead financial planning, reporting and audit.
- Understanding of healthcare revenue cycle and managed-care billing.
- Ability to lead and develop a finance team.
- Strong analytical, communication and reporting skills.
