Locations: Kano, Kaduna, Kogi, Niger, Nassarawa, Kwara, Ogun and Plateau State, Nigeria.

Job Summary

The Project Manager / Project Lead is responsible for the end-to-end execution of Arzikin Noma Africa programs and initiatives. The role translates strategy into delivery, ensuring that all projects designed by thematic Vice Presidents and senior leadership are implemented on time, on budget, and to agreed impact and commercial targets.

This role is execution-heavy and outcomes-driven. The Project Lead serves as the central coordination point across internal teams, partners, and field operations, with full accountability for results.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Execution & Project Delivery

·         Lead the implementation of approved strategies across assigned portfolios, including AgriSME development, smallholder aggregation, market access, finance, technology, and sustainability initiatives.

·         Translate high-level strategies into: annual and quarterly work plans, activity schedules and milestones, clear delivery targets and KPIs

·         Ensure consistent alignment between commercial objectives, partner expectations, and development impact.

Cross-Functional Coordination

·         Act as the primary coordination point between Vice Presidents, technical teams, partners, consultants, and field staff.

·         Ensure smooth collaboration across program, finance, partnerships, technology, and operations functions.

·         Identify delivery risks early and propose practical mitigation and recovery plans.

Partner & Stakeholder Management

·         Manage day-to-day relationships with: AgriSMEs and aggregators, farmer organizations and cooperatives, Financial institutions, corporates, and implementation partners

·         Support the structuring, execution, and scaling of partnerships, pilots, and commercial arrangements.

·         Ensure partner commitments and deliverables are met.

 

Operational & Financial Management

·         Manage project budgets, procurement plans, and expenditure tracking.

·         Monitor burn rates and ensure efficient use of resources.

Work closely with finance and leadership to maintain financial discipline and compliance.

Monitoring, Learning & Performance Management

·         Establish and manage simple but robust performance tracking systems aligned to business and impact outcomes.

·         Track progress against KPIs and delivery targets.

·         Lead periodic reviews to capture lessons learned and adapt implementation accordingly

Team Leadership & Field Oversight

·         Supervise project officers, field coordinators, and consultants.

·         Ensure high-quality field execution across value chains and geographies.

·         Build a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications & Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Economics, Development Studies, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).

·         5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in: agribusiness programs, SME development and agricultural value-chain projects

·         Demonstrated track record of executing, not just designing, complex projects.

·         Strong understanding of smallholder agriculture, AgriSMEs, and market systems.
