Data Collection at Youth Agenda Data Collection for Local Development (YALD

About the YALD Project
The Youth Action for Local Development (YALD) Project is a groundbreaking initiative spearheaded by LEAP Africa, with generous funding support from the Ford Foundation and MacArthur Foundation. YALD is designed to empower young Nigerians by integrating their voices and perspectives into local governance and development planning. Our core belief is that sustainable development begins when the priorities and needs of the youth are systematically identified and addressed. This project aims to create a robust data repository that will inform policy, drive resource allocation, and foster youth-led solutions at the grassroots level.
Initiative: Youth Action for Local Development (YALD) Project
Implementing Body: LEAP Africa, in partnership with NYFF (funded by Ford Foundation and MacArthur Foundation)
Location Focus: All 34 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Katsina State, Nigeria
The Importance of Your Contribution
We are launching a critical Youth Agenda Data Collection exercise in Katsina State, covering all 34 Local Government Areas. This exercise is not merely a survey; it is an invitation for young people to directly shape the developmental trajectory of their communities. Your input is invaluable as it will provide empirical data on the specific priority needs, challenges, and opportunities that are most relevant to young people in your local government area. This data will serve as a foundational resource for LEAP Africa and its partners to design and implement targeted interventions, advocate for youth-friendly policies, and mobilize resources for impactful projects.
Who Should Participate?
We strongly encourage all young people residing in any of the 34 LGAs of Katsina State to participate.
