The Adolescent Health Centre (AHC) is an NGO based in Gusau dedicated to improving the health, education, and empowerment of adolescents and young people, with a focus on sexual and reproductive health, life skills, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS awareness, and youth development. AHC works with communities, schools, government, and development partners to promote healthier, safer, and more inclusive futures for adolescents.
Position Summary
The Programs Coordinator will lead the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of AHC’s programs. The role involves coordinating field activities, managing program staff, ensuring donor compliance, strengthening community engagement, and building strategic partnerships. The coordinator will serve as a key link between the organization, beneficiaries, partners, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Program Management & Implementation
- Oversee planning, execution, and reporting of all program activities in line with organizational goals and donor requirements.
- Ensure quality assurance, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness in program delivery.
- Supervise field teams, facilitators, and volunteers.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)
- Develop and track program performance indicators.
- Collect, analyse, and report program data for learning, accountability, and improvement.
- Document success stories, best practices, and lessons learned.
- Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, schools, health facilities, community leaders, donors, and civil society partners.
- Represent AHC in relevant forums, networks, and meetings.
- Facilitate community mobilization and advocacy activities.
- Resource Mobilization & Reporting
- Support proposal development and fundraising initiatives.
- Prepare timely program and donor reports (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Manage program budgets and ensure financial accountability.
- Capacity Building
- Mentor and support program staff and volunteers to improve technical skills.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for adolescents, peer educators, and community members.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in NGO program management, preferably in adolescent health, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Malaria or education.
- Strong knowledge of adolescent and youth development issues in Northern Nigeria.
- Proven experience in project design, proposal writing, monitoring & evaluation, and reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders including government, communities, and young people.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data analysis tools.
- Fluency in English (written & spoken) and Hausa is required.
- Resident in Gusau, Zamfara State is preferred
