Objectives of the Position

The Finance Associate will support the organisation and the broader team in managing the financial activities of YandyTech Community. The primary objectives of the role include:

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare comprehensive reports: Manage financial data in Microsoft Excel, generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management and stakeholders, and reconcile bank statements.

  • Process financial transactions efficiently: Handle payment vouchers, invoices, expense claims, payroll, and staff reimbursements, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

  • Support budget management and financial planning: Assist in budget preparation, monitor expenditures, and ensure compliance with approved budgets and financial plans.

  • Manage vendor relations and procurement: Assist with vendor identification, maintain vendor databases, and prepare RFQs/RFPs.

  • Ensure financial compliance and documentation: Guarantee proper documentation and approval for all financial transactions, and adhere to organisational policies.

Requirements, Qualifications and Experience

  • Must be aged 18 – 28.

  • Bsc/ND/HND in Finance, Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of Two (2) years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related role in structured or volunteer role.

  • Experience working with youth-led social impact non-profits, or tech-focused entities is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other accounting softwares.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Ability to learn fast, work with minimal supervision from the management team.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of local tax laws and financial regulations.
