About the Role
- We are looking to hire a highly skilled Legal Associate with 2-4 years of experience.
- A successful candidate will play a vital role in providing comprehensive legal support and assistance to our Head of Legal on a broad spectrum of legal matters.
- The ideal candidate should have a strong background in legal research, drafting contracts, appeals, and other legal documents, and delivering sound legal counsel.
- Furthermore, the ideal candidate should exemplify unwavering reliability and integrity while consistently delivering exceptional work, even in high-pressure situations.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and refine legal documents—including contracts, agreements, internal policies, memoranda, and correspondence ensuring accuracy and full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor securities and payments regulatory environments across all operating markets and advise on implications for products and operations.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to deliver pragmatic, solutions-driven legal advice on new features, services, and technical implementations.
- Support market-entry legal workstreams, including regulatory analysis, entity formation, and preparation of materials for licensing applications.
- Assist with corporate secretarial tasks, maintain governance standards, and manage core corporate documentation.
- Advise on data protection and privacy laws (e.g., NDPR, GDPR) as they relate to products, users, and internal processes.
- Conduct thorough legal research on statutes, regulations, and emerging issues, delivering clear and concise analyses for decision-making.
- Track developments in local, federal, and international laws affecting Bamboo’s operations, guiding stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance and proactive risk management.
- Maintain an organized system for legal records and produce reports, summaries, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the contract lifecycle by tracking key dates, milestones, and obligations, and coordinating with teams to ensure timely and accurate execution.
- Participate in the negotiation and execution of agreements, offering commercial and legally sound recommendations.
- Provide general legal support to internal teams, address inquiries as they arise, and collaborate with external counsel when appropriate.
- Demonstrate strong understanding or interest in financial-services law, including securities, payments, AML/CFT, and data privacy, combined with a commercial, pragmatic mindset.
- Communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-lawyers, while managing multiple projects with strong organization and attention to detail.
