Job Title: Malaria SBCC Advisor

Location: Abuja with regular travel to implementing states (Niger, Jigawa, Kano, Kebbi & Sokoto)

 

About the Job 

Our client is seeking to engage a suitably qualified Malaria Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) Advisor to provide technical leadership for malaria behaviour-change communication, demand generation, and community engagement interventions, ensuring harmonised messaging, context-specific implementation, strengthened stakeholder ownership, and improved uptake of malaria prevention, testing, treatment, and referral services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and harmonise malaria SBCC strategies, messages, tools, and community engagement materials.
  • Guide state teams on audience segmentation, community mobilisation, and behaviour-change interventions.
  • Engage government, community leaders, media, and partners to strengthen malaria awareness, service uptake, and community ownership.
  • Use programme and community data to monitor SBCC outcomes, address behavioural gaps, and strengthen sustainable state-led approaches.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Advanced degree in Communication, Public Health, Behavioural Science, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in Health SBCC/ACSM, with demonstrated experience supporting malaria programmes.
  • Strong expertise in behaviour change, community engagement, audience segmentation, and message development.
  • Experience working with government, community leaders, media, and implementing partners, with strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills.
  • Strong communication, analytical, facilitation, and organisational skills, with a results-oriented approach.
