Job purpose
- The BBC Media Action office in Nigeria is seeking a Senior Digital Producer to lead the design and production of a digital strategy and content stream for a multi-component Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) programme focused on reproductive health and child spacing in Northern Nigeria.
- The Senior Digital Producer will utilise their editorial knowledge and digital skills to oversee the production of high-quality and impactful digital outputs across platforms. The role will hold responsibility for extending storytelling from TV/radio formats into digital, social media, and interactive formats.
- The Senior Digital Producer will collaborate with colleagues across the Production & Training department to deliver high-quality audio, visual and digital outputs that fulfil thematic objectives while maximising relevance and appeal among target audiences.
- The role will initiate and drive the full digital production lifecycle, from concept development through to final delivery, ensuring strong editorial quality, strategic alignment, and audience impact across platforms.
- The role will provide strategic oversight of digital production, ensuring that all digital outputs are platform-optimised, audience-responsive, data-informed and aligned across channels.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design, planning, and delivery of multi-platform digital outputs, ensuring strong integration between broadcast and digital content from concept through production and post-production
- Lead digital content strategy and platform optimisation, using audience insights and analytics to strengthen engagement, reach and behavioural impact
- Lead the development of a cohesive multi-platform narrative approach, ensuring consistency and continuity of storytelling across digital, radio and community touchpoints
- Line manage and provide technical oversight to the Digital Producer and Assistant Producer (multimedia), ensuring strong alignment between digital and radio outputs
- Collaborate closely with strategy, research and SBC teams to translate behavioural objectives into compelling, insight-driven digital content with measurable impact
- Direct studio and field recordings, ensuring high-quality digital production and effective coordination of logistics and resources
- Monitor content performance and recommend adaptive improvements to maximise reach, engagement and effectiveness across platforms
- Ensure effective digital production workflows, including compliance, safeguarding and data protection across all outputs and platforms
- Ensure that all content or language published on BBC Media Action digital platforms adheres to BBC editorial guidelines
- Any other tasks assigned by BBC Media Action to achieve project and organisational objectives.
Required skills, knowledge, and experience
- Proven experience producing engaging and creative content across digital platforms.
- Demonstrable experience leading multimedia or digital production teams, including editorial oversight and management of social media and digital outputs.
- Excellent understanding of Nigeria’s social media landscape, including the relevant platforms for different audience segments.
- Creative writing skills in English and Hausa, with the ability to develop ideas that resonate with broad and diverse audiences.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working collaboratively in a media production environment.
- Experience using digital insights and analytics to inform content refinement and audience engagement.
- Working knowledge of multimedia production tools and workflows.
- Strong experience producing and posting content for social media websites, and digital platforms to reach a diverse range of audiences.
- Strong editorial judgement, with a clear understanding of BBC editorial values and standards.
