Job Title: Junior Associate, Circular Economy & Youth Engagement

Location: Abuja, Nigeria

About the Role
Support CTH’s climate action portfolio with a focus on circular economy programming and youth engagement; bridging policy, schools, and communities to drive green growth across Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

Climate & Circular Economy

  • Develop and implement projects under CTH’s Environment & Climate action Department

  • Develop policy briefs, applied research, and advocacy materials that track climate trends, adaptation pathways, and emerging clean technologies – translating complex issues into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.

  • Lead initiatives bordering material recovery, waste to wealth, post-consumer plastics, and general circular economy mindset change

Youth & Schools Programming

  • Coordinate CTH’s Schools and Youth Networks, including curriculum design and delivery

  • Manage work plans, performance tracking, and impact reporting for youth initiatives

  • Connect youth participants to emerging climate, energy, and green skills opportunities

Stakeholder Engagement & Communications

  • Engage schools, youth-led organisations, government agencies, and partners

  • Organise workshops, events, and training sessions for young people and sectoral actors

  • Support the Media and Communications Department with digital and social media content for youth and climate visibility

Business Development & M&E

  • Identify funding opportunities and develop proposals for climate and youth projects

  • Manage donor reporting, budgeting, and project documentation

  • Track and evaluate programme performance and outcomes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related field

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in climate change, circular economy/waste, or youth development

  • Strong coordination, research, and communication skills

  • Self-driven, creative, and passionate about climate advocacy and education

Core Skills:

  • Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills.

  • Understanding of Nigeria’s climate change, circular economy, and youth development landscape.

  • Project management

  • Research, content development, and digital communication skills.

  • Self-driven, creative, and passionate about climate advocacy, circular economy, and education.
