The Department of Public Health, Iconic Open University invites qualified and committed professionals to apply for the position of Practicum Supervisor for the upcoming academic semester starting January 2026.
Practicum Supervisors will guide students as they undertake public health field experience across various facilities, ensuring quality mentorship, effective documentation, and adherence to academic standards.

Practicum Supervisor (Public/Community Health)

Every state of Nigeria, Primarily Virtual (Online) with flexible physical supervision at your own state
Engagement Type:
Full-time / Part-time
Key Responsibilities
● Provide daily and weekly virtual supervision to assigned students during a 6-week practicum period.
● Conduct weekly virtual review meetings to assess progress, challenges, and student learning.
● Monitor and review students’ daily log entries, uploaded photos, and activity reports.
● Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure students meet practicum objectives.
● Offer flexible physical supervision, when required, depending on student location and activity.
● Ensure student compliance with professional, ethical, and academic standards at field.
● Document supervision activities and submit periodic reports to the department.
● Communicate promptly with the Practicum Coordinator on issues affecting student performance or field activities.
● Participate in evaluation and presentation sessions for practicum improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
● A minimum of 2.1 Bachelor’s Degree in medical or allied health- only (e.g., Public Health, Nursing, Environmental Health, Health Education, Epidemiology, Community Health, MBBS, Veterinary, Pharmacy etc.). Possession of a good Master’s or PhD in Public Health stands a better advantage.
● Experience in Public Health notably in health programming/intervention, field visits, community engagement, facility-based activities, or related assignments.
● Ability to guide and supervise students virtually using online data collection tools, iCampus, WhatsApp, Google Workspace, Zoom, or Google Meet.
● Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
Added Advantages
● Experience in hybrid (virtual & physical) supervision or student mentorship.
● Prior involvement in practicum coordination/supervision at tertiary institution level, field research, or monitoring and evaluation.
