Role Description

Our client, a nonprofit organization working to improve health outcomes in underserved communities, is implementing an HIV-focused project to support epidemic control in FCT, Nasarawa, and Rivers States. The project provides comprehensive HIV services, including testing, treatment, care, and support at health facilities.

We are looking for a Program Officer to support the day-to-day implementation of project activities at facility level. The officer will provide technical assistance, mentor facility staff onsite, oversee data assistants, and coordinate patient care processes.

Location: Abuja FCT, Nasarawa, and Rivers States. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor HIV testing, treatment, and care services at supported facilities
  • Mentor facility staff and oversee data and reporting processes
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, adherence counseling, and follow-up services
  • Track commodity stock levels and guide on proper storage and usage
  • Represent the project team in cluster meetings and lead problem-solving sessions
  • Manage a key program area (workstream), set targets, and monitor outcomes
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of services and indicators

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related Allied Health field
  • Minimum of 1–2 years experience in public health programs, preferably HIV-related
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

This role requires commitment to field work and close engagement with healthcare facilities.
