The Federal Ministry of Education (FME) introduced a new initiative called BRIDGE, which stands for Bridging Research, Innovation, Development & Global Engagement. The portal is now open for interested and qualified persons to apply.

This program, launched in partnership with TETFund (Tertiary Education Trust Fund), aims to link Nigerian academics and professionals with their counterparts living abroad.

According to the Honorable Minister of Education, the program is designed to “empower research, innovation, and global collaboration in Nigerian academia.” BRIDGE seeks to ensure that universities and scholars in Nigeria benefit from global knowledge, funding access, international partnerships, and improved academic practices.

The program establishes structured opportunities for Nigerian scholars in the diaspora to engage directly with institutions back home. It is expected to boost Nigeria’s academic system by supporting research growth, modern teaching methods, and stronger industry relevance.
