What Does the Programme Entail?
The AFRIKA KOMMT! experience is divided into three phases:
- Selection and Preparation
- From intensive language courses to hands-on training in partner companies, fellows receive comprehensive support and guidance throughout their journey.
- One-Year Stay in Germany
- Immersive language courses, management trainings, study tours, and practical experience in partner companies form the core of the one-year programme.
- Alumni Phase
- Upon completion, fellows become ambassadors of knowledge and skill transfer in their home countries, further strengthening the AFRIKA KOMMT! network.

Am I Eligible?

Method of Apply for the AFRIKA KOMMT! Programme
The AFRIKA KOMMT! programme is open for applications only during the designated application phase. All applications must be submitted through our online portal; applications via email will not be accepted.
Application Process
Step 1: Verify Eligibility
Before applying, carefully review the general candidate requirements to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for the AFRIKA KOMMT! programme.
Step 2: Review Fellowship Placements
Explore the available fellowship placements and required profiles for the upcoming intake. These placements are accessible only during the application phase.
While your application will be considered for the programme as a whole, you must select a maximum of two profiles in the application form and provide reasons for your choices.
Step 3: Register and Complete the Application
- Register at https://application.afrika-kommt.de.
- Fill in the application form in English. Applications in other languages will not be considered.
- Upload the following documents:
- A short presentation about your motivation.
- An idea for a change initiative.
- A recent photo.
- Your certificates.
About the Idea for a Change Initiative: AFRIKA KOMMT! aims to support young African professionals in designing initiatives that address social and economic challenges in their home countries. You will be required to answer three questions about your proposed change initiative in the application form.
Step 4: Submit Before the Deadline
Submit your application by March 23, 2025. Late applications will not be considered.

What Happens Next?
After submission, you will receive feedback within 8-12 weeks following the application deadline. If shortlisted, partner companies may contact you for a brief telephone interview.
If your application successfully passes the pre-selection stage, you will be invited to attend a two-day assessment centre.
AFRIKA KOMMT! Assessment Centre
The assessment centre consists of tasks, group activities, and presentations that help determine the final selection. Results will be communicated within a few weeks. Successful candidates will then receive an invitation to Germany for a one-year fellowship.
Programme Start
The 14th intake of AFRIKA KOMMT! will commence in November 2025 in Germany.
