ahaki Afya na Haki : Advanced short course on Advocacy for Digital Health Justice

Introduction
Digital health tools, including artificial intelligence (AI), are increasingly shaping reproductive healthcare, from maternal and antenatal care and screening to SRHR information, fertility tracking and telehealth. They offer opportunities to strengthen access and quality, but they also raise questions about power, privacy, bias and accountability, particularly where reproductive data can expose people to stigma, discrimination or surveillance.
This advanced short course applies Ahaki’s Africentric Reproductive Justice Framework for Africa to digital health and Al. It examines how these technologies are designed, deployed and governed, and how policy and advocacy can help ensure that they advance reproductive justice in African contexts.
Through a composite Al use case, African case studies and four guiding questions (Who does Al serve? On whose terms? Whom does it fail, and who answers? Who governs, and what do we do?), participants will engage with data, consent and sovereignty, legal and policy frameworks, bias and exclusion, accountability and redress, community participation and advocacy strategies. Participants will leave with an advocacy roadmap.
