Job Title: State Malaria Specialist
Location: Niger, Jigawa, Kano, Kebbi & Sokoto
About the Job
Our client is seeking to engage a suitably qualified State Malaria Specialist to provide technical leadership and coordination for malaria programme implementation within an assigned state, working closely with government and partners to translate national malaria strategies into locally owned interventions, strengthen service delivery, address implementation gaps, and drive measurable improvements across facilities and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate malaria state-level implementation across government, facilities, LGAS, communities, and partners..
- Identify and address service-delivery gaps.
- through facility and community assessments and routine programme reviews.
- Monitor programme performance and drive timely corrective actions to address implementation challenges.
- Strengthen stakeholder coordination and ownership through government engagement, capacity building, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- Degree in Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, Epidemiology, or a related health field; postgraduate qualification is preferred.
- At least 6 years of malaria or public health programme experience, including state-level implementation.
- Strong knowledge of malaria prevention, diagnosis, treatment, community programming, and routine health systems.
- Demonstrated experience working with state governments. LGAS, health facilities, and programme partners.
- Strong coordination, facilitation, problem-solving.
- communication, and field-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical functions.
