The Nigerian Army is the largest component of the Nigerian Armed Forces and is responsible for land warfare operations. It is governed by the Nigerian Army Council.

Basic Entry Requirements
- Applicants must be single and Nigerian citizens by birth, and must possess a National Identity Card / NIN and a Bank Verification Number (BVN) slip.
- The name and date of birth on the NIN must correspond with those on the BVN and all other credentials.
- Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit in accordance with Nigerian Army Standards.
- Applicants must have no criminal conviction by any court of competent jurisdiction.
- Applicants must possess at least a minimum of 4 passes, including English Language, in not more than 2 sittings in WASSCE / GCE / NECO / NABTEB and NBAIS.
- In addition to the above qualifications, those applying as trades men/women must possess a Trade Test/City and Guilds Certificate.
- Applicants must possess a valid birth certificate endorsed by the National Population Commission, Hospital or Local Government Council. Age declaration endorsed by a competent court can also suffice.
- Applicants must not be less than 18 years or more than 22 years for non-trades men/women, while trades men/women must not be more than 26 years by 21 October 2026.
- Applicants must not be less than 1.68 metres and 1.65 metres tall for male and female candidates, respectively.
- Applicants must apply using their state of origin and not their state of residence.
- Applicants must possess a valid certificate of state of origin.

Application Guidelines

- Log on to the above-mentioned link using your username and password previously generated.
- Complete the application form, submit online, print a copy, and complete the guarantor form as appropriate.
- Candidates should ensure they submit their application online after printing their photo card.
- Failure to submit online will lead to disqualification.
- Ensure you bring duly signed copies of the following documents to the state screening exercise: Photo Card, Declaration by applicant, Parent / Guardian forms, Certification by LGA Chairman / Secretary, Certification by Divisional Police Officer, and Guarantor’s Form.
Note
- Candidates are to note that there will be no Pre-Selection Computer-Based Test.
- No special centre for recruitment.
- All screening of potential recruits will be conducted at the candidates’ respective state of origin.
- Candidates are not to bring electronic or recording devices to the venue of the State Recruitment Exercise.
- Tattoos, piercings, or inscriptions on any part of the body other than tribal marks are not allowed.
- Candidates must tender all original copies of educational certificates (primary to secondary).
- Multiple ear piercings for females are not allowed.
- Candidates must not belong to any cult/society/fraternity.
- A Candidate will be withdrawn from training if found to have forged or falsified or his / her document.
- Candidates are advised in their own interest not to give any form of gratification or inducement to any person or group of persons to assist them in the recruitment exercise.
