Job Description
- The Midwife Officer II is responsible for delivering comprehensive maternal and neonatal healthcare services within KTHSMB facilities.
- The role involves antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, assisting in safe deliveries, monitoring maternal and fetal health, and providing family planning and reproductive health services.
- The officer will ensure adherence to clinical protocols, infection prevention standards, and ethical practices while working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to improve maternal and child health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to patients
- Assist and manage normal deliveries safely
- Monitor maternal and fetal conditions during pregnancy and labour
- Provide immediate care to newborns after delivery
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Educate mothers on maternal, neonatal, and reproductive health
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control protocols
- Identify and refer high-risk cases appropriately
- Support family planning and reproductive health services
Requirements & Qualifications
- Registered Midwife (RM) qualification
- Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
- Valid practicing license
- Strong maternal and neonatal care skills
- Good communication and patient care abilities
- Relevant experience.
- Computer literacy.
