Job Description

• The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing routine laboratory investigations to support clinical diagnosis and patient care within KTHSMB healthcare facilities.
• The role involves collecting and processing samples, conducting tests, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring quality control and biosafety standards.
• The technician will work under the supervision of a Medical Laboratory Scientist to ensure timely, accurate, and reliable laboratory results

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, label, and process patient specimens (blood, urine, etc.)
• Perform routine laboratory tests in hematology, microbiology, and biochemistry
• Prepare reagents and maintain laboratory supplies
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
• Ensure compliance with laboratory quality control procedures
• Adhere to biosafety and infection prevention protocols
• Record and report test results accurately
• Maintain laboratory records and documentation
• Assist in sample storage and disposal according to standards
• Support laboratory scientists and clinicians in diagnostic processes.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or related fields
• Basic laboratory testing and sample handling skills
• Knowledge of biosafety and infection control
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Relevant experience.
