About
The International Youth Forum (IYF) on Creativity and Heritage along the Silk Roads is an annual forum initiated by UNESCO, the National Commission of the People’s Republic of China for UNESCO, local governments in China, and the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres, and Associations (WFUCA), since 2017. The past Forums have gathered over 800 young participants from 146 countries, creating space for intercultural dialogue among youth from countries especially along the terrestrial and maritime Silk Roads.

We are thrilled to announce that the application for 2026 International Youth Forum (IYF) on Creativity and Heritage along the Silk Roads is now open!
This year, we are looking for creative practitioners who are ready to collaborate and explore innovative ways of interpreting and presenting cultural heritage, including through the responsible use of AI.”

Who are we looking for?
- Must be between 18 and 32 to apply
- Be willing to learn and apply UNESCO’s ‘Youth Lens’ for storytelling
- Integrate AI to showcase the beauty and innovation of local heritage.
- Collaborate in international, cross-cultural teams
