Job Title: Web Developer
Location: Remote
Description
- We are looking for a Web Developer to build, maintain, and improve our website, front-end and back-end. You’ll own the technical experience of our platform, from how it looks and feels to how reliably it runs.
- You will develop, maintain, and improve our website and web applications across the full stack. This includes writing clean, efficient code, optimising for speed and SEO, integrating APIs, and fixing issues as they arise. You’ll work closely with designers and other team members to ship high-quality features.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve the website and web applications (front-end and back-end)
- Design and implement APIs and database structures to support functionality
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Optimise the website for speed, performance, and SEO
- Integrate APIs and third-party services
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness
- Troubleshoot technical issues and implement new features
- Collaborate with designers and other team members to deliver high-quality digital experiences
- Participate in code reviews and maintain code quality standards
- Stay informed on emerging web development technologies and best practices
Skills & Competencies Required
Must-have:
- 3+ years of cogent experience in web development (front-end and back-end)
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (React, Next.js, Vue.js, or similar)
- Experience with back-end frameworks and languages (Node.js, Express.js, or similar)
- Experience with database systems (e.g. MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with responsive web design
- Knowledge of Git and version control
- Understanding of website performance, security, and SEO best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Nice-to-have:
- A background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with TypeScript
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and GraphQL
- Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, or similar)
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
- A portfolio or GitHub profile showcasing previous work.
