Job Title: Immigration Writer

Description
- Veycl is looking for an Immigration Writer to research, simplify, and publish accurate content on immigration policy. You’ll turn dense legal and regulatory language into clear, reliable guides that help people make safe, informed migration decisions.
- You will research and write high-quality articles and guides on immigration policy across the globe. This means simplifying complex legal and regulatory language into reader-friendly content, fact-checking every policy detail against primary sources, and keeping content current as policies change. Coverage spans global immigration, so candidates should indicate their strongest region(s) or country/countries of expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and write articles and guides on immigration policy
- Simplify complex legal and regulatory language into clear, reader-friendly content
- Fact-check all policy claims and details against primary sources before publishing
- Create SEO-optimised content aligned with Veycl’s editorial standards
- Keep published content updated as immigration policies change
- Flag significant policy changes to the Content Manager
- Recommend which posts should be upgraded to a Visa Guide or General Travel Guide
Performance Metrics & KPIs
- Number of articles/guides published per week
- Search traffic generated per article
- Accuracy rate (few to zero factual or policy corrections post-publish)
- Number of valuable policy flags raised to the Content Manager
- Comments and shares per post
What Success Looks Like
- At 90 days: You’re publishing consistently, your fact-checking is watertight, and your content clearly simplifies complex immigration policy for a general audience.
- At 1 year: Your writing is a trusted, recognisable part of Veycl’s immigration content. You’ve flagged real policy changes that shaped our coverage, and several of your pieces have been upgraded into full guides.
Skills & Competencies Required
Must-have:
- LL.B (Bachelor of Laws) or equivalent legal background
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Solid understanding of global immigration processes and policies
- SEO knowledge (on-page optimisation, keyword strategy)
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- A clearly stated area, region, or country of strength within immigration policy
Nice-to-have:
- Prior experience in policy or immigration content writing
- Experience with content management systems (e.g. WordPress)
