Mikano International Limited is a Nigerian company in the power generation, real estate and construction sectors. This company offers sales, maintenance, assembly and distribution of power generation products, real estate development, and sales of construction equipment.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Ogba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• To oversee accounting operations, ensure accuracy of financial records, manage reconciliations, supervise financial transactions, support treasury and reporting functions, and ensure compliance with organizational policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and general ledger accounts.
• Review and approve accounting entries, journal vouchers, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial statements.
• Monitor account balances and investigate discrepancies
• Perform periodic reconciliation of bank accounts, customer accounts, supplier accounts, and intercompany accounts.
• Oversee processing of supplier invoices and payment vouchers.
• Support cash flow planning through effective monitoring of receivables and payables.
• Monitor daily cash positions and funding requirements.
• Review petty cash and IOU transactions for compliance and proper closure.
• Assist in managing cash flow forecasts and treasury reports.
• Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted performance.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, financial regulations, and tax requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc./HND) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is required.
• Relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in Accounting and Taxation.
• At least 5 years of experience at a supervisory level.
• A self-starter in Final Accounts and General-Purpose Financial Statements.
• Good exposure to Intercompany/Affiliate Entity Accounts
