Job Overview

  • PIF Africa’s Finance, Funding & Investing Department team is seeking a Junior Consultant Investment to support and strengthen its fundraising, treasury, investing strategy, investor relations, capital deployment, transaction coordination, and broader investment-related advisory activities for both PIF Africa and its clientele.
  • The role supports the organization and its clientele in identifying, structuring, coordinating, managing, and monitoring different forms of funding opportunities, treasury relationships, investing opportunities, capital allocation strategies, portfolio activities, and broader investment-readiness initiatives.

The role sits at the intersection of:

  • Fundraising and investor relations;
  • Treasury and liquidity strategy;
  • Investing and portfolio analysis;
  • Transaction support and execution;
  • Capital deployment and strategic acquisitions;
  • Financial institution coordination;
  • And investment-related advisory support.

Who You Are

  • Graduate in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking & Finance, Business Administration,  Engineering, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
  • ACA/ACCA/CFA (in progress or completed), FMVA, investment-related certifications, or similar finance qualifications are strongly preferred.

12–36 months relevant experience across:

  • Investments;
  • Fundraising;
  • Treasury;
  • Transaction support;
  • Financial analysis;
  • Investment research;
  • Corporate finance;
  • Portfolio management;
  • Strategic finance;
  • Financial modelling;
  • Or related finance/investment functions.

Strong Excel and PowerPoint capability is mandatory, including ability to prepare:

  • Financial models;
  • Valuation analysis;
  • Treasury and cashflow tracking;
  • Fundraising trackers;
  • Scenario analysis;
  • Investment presentations;
  • Investor reports;
  • And portfolio summaries.

Good understanding of:

  • Fundraising and financing structures;
  • Debt/equity/quasi-equity instruments;
  • Treasury and liquidity management;
  • Financial institutions and capital providers;
  • Investing and transaction processes;
  • Investment documentation;
  • Financial analysis;
  • And commercial research.
  • Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, documentation, research, and business writing capability.
  • Commercially minded and comfortable working across multiple industries, financing structures, transaction types, and strategic initiatives.

What You’ll Do
Fundraising, Funding Management & Investor Relations:

  • Research, identify, and maintain a live pipeline of suitable funding opportunities for PIF Africa and its clientele across different financing structures and capital sources.
  • Assess funding opportunities by reviewing strategic fit, timing, eligibility, documentation requirements, reporting obligations, repayment expectations, commercial implications, and alignment with organizational or client objectives.
  • Prepare and maintain fundraising trackers, funding calendars, relationship databases, application schedules, follow-up trackers, and funding pipeline reports.
  • Support preparation of pitch decks, funding applications, investment memoranda, financial summaries, proposals, briefing notes, commercial presentations, and related fundraising documentation.
  • Coordinate fundraising processes from opportunity identification through engagement, submission, due diligence, negotiation support, approval, disbursement, reporting, and post-funding monitoring.
  • Manage investor relations and funding-partner engagement by coordinating communications, updates, information requests, reporting timelines, meetings, relationship follow-ups, and documentation requests with financial institutions, investors, capital providers, strategic partners, and related counterparties.
  • Track funding received, utilization of funds, repayment obligations, reporting timelines, milestone commitments, covenant requirements, and related funding obligations.
  • Work closely with the Product Financial Control and Operations & Settlements function to ensure funding reports, reconciliations, utilization schedules, banking documentation, financial records, and supporting information are accurate and readily available.

Investing Strategy, Capital Deployment & Portfolio Support:

  • Research and assess potential investing and capital deployment opportunities for PIF Africa and its clientele across different asset classes, industries, operating businesses, strategic assets, infrastructure opportunities, and related investment structures.
  • Support analysis of strategic investing opportunities including acquisitions, minority stake investments, joint ventures, ecosystem investments, intellectual property monetization opportunities, innovation infrastructure, technology infrastructure, real estate expansion, operational expansion assets, and other long-term strategic opportunities.
  • Prepare financial models, valuation support, return analysis, sensitivity analysis, investment briefs, transaction notes, commercial assessments, and decision-support reports.
  • Conduct market, sector, industry, competitor, macroeconomic, regulatory, and transaction research to support fundraising and investing decisions.
  • Support due diligence activities by coordinating financial, commercial, operational, legal, tax, insurance, environmental, social, governance, and other transaction-related review processes where relevant.
  • Track portfolio performance, expected returns, realized returns, risks, interventions, reporting requirements, liquidity considerations, and potential monetization or exit pathways.
  • Support treasury and liquidity decisions by assessing how surplus funds, reserves, operating liquidity, restricted funds, or client capital may be allocated, deployed, protected, or strategically utilized.
  • Support relationship management and engagement with financial institutions, treasury partners, capital providers, investment firms, strategic counterparties, and broader financial ecosystem stakeholders.
  •  Work closely with the Product Financial Control and Operations & Settlements function to ensure investing decisions are supported by accurate financial reporting, liquidity visibility, reconciliations, banking coordination, tax considerations, operational controls, and financial readiness.
  • Draft and maintain investment-related trackers, reports, databases, SOPs, pipeline schedules, transaction records, and related documentation repositories.

Requirements

  • candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree, with 1-3 years of  work experience.

Benefits
Salary: N150,000 – N250,000 per month
