Job Description
- An Assistant Farm Manager supports the management of large-scale poultry breeding and farming operations, with a focus on day-to-day execution, flock performance, biosecurity, and adherence to operating standards.
- Working closely with the Farm Manager, the role ensures smooth on-ground operations, consistent productivity, and compliance with international best practices across automated and semi automated farming environments.
Responsibilities
- Support the operation and management of layer and broiler breeder farms using modern and automated systems such as closed housing, tunnel ventilation, automated feeding, and egg collection
- Ensure farm operations are conducted in line with defined operating procedures and international industry standards
- Assist in implementation of best practices related to brooding, growing, vaccination, health management, and biosecurity for parent stock flocks
- Monitor flock performance parameters including body weight, flock uniformity, mortality, egg production, and hatching egg output
- Support implementation of protocols related to feeding programs, preventive medication, sanitation, and labor hygiene
- Assist in maintaining high biosecurity standards and ensuring strict compliance across farm operations
- Coordinate with veterinary, technical, and farm teams to address health, performance, and operational issues.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Sciences or Agriculture Sciences (Animal Production or related discipline). Post-graduation or specialization in Poultry Production, Pathology, or related areas is an advantage.
Experience:
- 7 to 12 years of hands on experience in poultry farming or livestock operations. Exposure to modern or automated farm systems is preferred.
