Job Summary
The VP, commercial & expansion will be responsible for driving growth and profitability through strategic capital raising, new client acquisition, and innovative market penetration. Performance measured through increased revenue to the bank, expanding market segments, and developing new product offerings. Tactical activities will be executed on the following pillars with clear examples:
The VP, commercial and Business expansion will lead commercial strategy and execution for Arzikin Noma Africa’s product lines- scaling local market penetration while driving export growth into strategic markets..
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnerships & Collaboration
· Public sector; NALDA, BOA, BOI, CBN, FMARD etc.
· Private Sector: Collaboration with credible tech related entities utilizing their home-grown applications for client data acquisition, management and monitoring.
· Development Finance entities/Grants
Commercial Strategy
· Define go-to market strategies for local and export business units
· Segment markets (retail, institutional, food processors, international buyers) and tailor product portfolios
· Set pricing strategy, discount structures and revenue target
Export Development
· Identify priority markets- Central and West Africa and develop market entry points
· Manage export compliance, documentation, certifications and logistic partners
· Build relationship with global distributors, brokers and buyers
Local Trading & Distribution
· Strengthen local distribution networks- wholesalers, aggregators, cooperatives and modern trade channels
· Optimize channel performance and alignment with inventory/fulfillment systems
· Monitor market intelligence and competitor activities
Sales and Marketing leadership
· Lead national and international sales teams; sets targets and performance metrics
· Coordinate with branding, digital and traditional marketing campaigns, product launches and customer insights
· Attend trade shows, buyer missions and exporter forums
P&L Accountability
· Manage revenue forecasts, budgets, and margin optimization
· Collaborate with supply chain and finance to mitigate risks related to currency, logistics and export barriers
Qualifications
· 7+ years in commercial leadership co(Agribusiness, FMCG, international trade), local trading and export experience
· Strong export experience, familiarity with global regulatory environments and trade compliance
· Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
· Master degree in Business administration
