Job Summary
- We are seeking a results-driven Retail Banking Business Development Specialist to drive customer acquisition, grow the bank’s retail customer base, promote banking products and services, and generate new business opportunities.
- The successful candidate will actively engage prospective and existing customers, identify their financial needs, recommend suitable banking solutions, and contribute to the achievement of business development and revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and acquire new retail banking customers through direct sales, referrals, networking, and field marketing activities.
- Promote the bank’s products and services, including savings and current accounts, loans, cards, digital banking, investments, and other retail solutions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Generate quality leads and convert prospects into active customers.
- Achieve assigned customer acquisition, deposit mobilization, loan, and revenue targets.
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and potential customer segments.
- Visit prospective customers, businesses, organizations, and relevant market locations to generate new leads.
- Cross-sell and upsell relevant banking products to existing customers.
- Follow up on leads, applications, account openings, and customer requests to ensure successful conversion.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, leads, and conversions.
- Work closely with branch teams and other internal departments to ensure smooth customer onboarding and service delivery.
- Ensure all customer acquisition activities comply with the bank’s policies, KYC requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Provide regular sales and business development reports to management.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
- Resolve customer concerns and escalate complex issues appropriately.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, HND,in anyfield.
- 1–2 years of experience in banking, financial services, sales, business development, or customer acquisition is an advantage.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with targets and meet deadlines.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
- Ability to generate leads and convert prospects into customers.
- Good knowledge of retail banking products and services.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
