Job Title: GBV Case Manager (Consultant)
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Description
- The post holder will coordinate, manage & supervise the direct implementation of community based GBV Prevention and Women & Girls Safe Spaces activities in MMC.
- S/he will provide overall leadership to a team of GBV Case workers and GBV Champions and also ensure awareness raising activities at the community level are conducted and key messages on GBV prevention and response are shared appropriately.
Person Specifications
Education / Qualifications:
- First degree in Social Sciences/ Art /Health or other related fields is essential.
Experience
- At least three (3) years’ experience in implementing child protection or Gender-Based Violence programs, preferably social work or case management, in humanitarian or development settings is essential.
- Previous experience supervising and managing a team in a cross-cultural setting, especially Case Workers is essential.
- Experience working with case files and databases and providing regular documentation preferred is essential.
- Proven record of providing training and workshops on gender and GBV, SRH, topics in a variety of settings is essential.
- Experience in working in an International Development organisation is desirable.
Skill/Abilities:
- Previous experience in emergency preparedness and response.
- Proficiency in community mobilization, challenging social norms/relations, Behaviour Change Communication, and Case Management with good facilitation skills.
- Proven strong and charismatic management and leadership skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience in capacity building and mentoring of staff.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Excellent report-writing skills.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
