Location: Fully Remote – Nigeria
Role Overview
As the Executive Assistant to Surge Africa’s director, you will provide high-level administrative, organisational, and strategic support to the Director of Surge Africa. You will serve as a key coordination point, helping to manage the Director’s time, communications, and priorities while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This role requires discretion, initiative, and strong judgment.
Responsibilities

Provide direct administrative and executive support to the Director

Manage the Director’s calendar, scheduling meetings, appointments, and reminders

Draft, review, and format correspondence, reports, briefs, and presentations
-
Act as a liaison between the Director and internal/external stakeholders
-
Prepare agendas, attend meetings as required, and take accurate minutes
-
Track action items and follow up to ensure timely execution
-
Support planning and coordination of board meetings, strategy sessions, and external engagements
-
Manage confidential information with a high level of professionalism and discretion

Assist with travel planning, logistics, and virtual meeting coordination
-
Maintain organised digital filing and document management systems

Support special projects and perform other related duties as assigned by the Director

Other duties ancillary to the above.
Skills and Qualifications

Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience providing executive or senior administrative support
-
Proven experience supporting a senior leader or executive in a fast-paced environment
-
Strong organisational, time-management, and prioritisation skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
High level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail
-
Strong competency in digital tools, calendars, document management systems, and virtual workspaces

Ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and exercise sound judgment

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
-
Interest in or understanding of climate change, development, or nonprofit work is an advantage.
