Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international, private, non-governmental, non-profit humanitarian organization. Our organization offers assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters, to victims of armed conflict, without discrimination irrespective of race, religion, creed or political affiliation. Context
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is a private, not-for-profit international humanitarian organization providing medical assistance to populations in distress, without discrimination.
MSF has been active in Katsina since February 2021, operating:
- 2 ITFCs (Inpatient Therapeutic Feeding Centres) – Kofar Sauri PHCC & Turai Yar’adua PHCC.
- 5 ATFCs (Ambulatory Therapeutic Feeding Centres) – three in Jibia LGA (Magama, Daddara, Riko), one in Mashi, and one in Katsina City (Kofar Marusa).
Main Purpose
Carry out repair, maintenance, and construction works according to MSF standards to ensure smooth operations and prevent faults or deterioration of MSF facilities, equipment, and infrastructure.
Job Description
- Carry out minor construction and repair works as assigned.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance of installations, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Diagnose faults/deterioration and propose solutions.
- Test repaired items to confirm proper operation.
- Maintain tools, workshop tidiness, and manage repair materials.
- Keep documentation updated for all installations/equipment.
- Report any incidents (damage, loss, theft, break-ins) immediately.
- Assist the logistics department with related tasks.
Requirements
Education: Literacy essential.
Experience: Previous experience desirable.
Languages: Mission and local language (Hausa) essential.
Knowledge: Basic repair skills essential.

Contract & Remuneration
- Hours: 208 working hours per month.
- Salary: According to MSF salary scale + 13th month allowance (1 month gross salary).
