Coordinators for the YOUNGO Energy Working Group

The YOUNGO Energy Working Group is excited to announce openings for four dynamic Coordinator roles. We are seeking motivated, knowledgeable, and committed individuals under the age of 35 to join our team and drive forward our energy initiatives on both the global and local stages. The successful candidates will be required to work in line with our working group policies, YOUNGO’s terms and conditions, and internal protocols, contributing approximately 3–4 hours per week while meeting all agreed deadlines .

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Policy Adherence:
    • Ability to work within the YOUNGO Energy Working Group’s policies, mandates, and internal protocols.
  • Time Commitment:
    • Availability for 3–4 hours per week and commitment to meeting agreed deadlines.
  • Age Limit:
    • Maximum age of 35 years.
  • Experience & Knowledge:
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the specific area of the applied role.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Take ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
    • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • A fast learner with a proactive approach to challenges.

Available Coordinator Roles & Responsibilities

1. Internal Relations Coordinator

  • Foster Cross-Working Group (WG) Relations:
    • Act as the liaison among different WGs to ensure cohesive collaboration.
  • Manage YOUNGO-wide Communications:
    • Oversee and streamline internal communications across YOUNGO platforms.
  • Team Coordination:
    • Facilitate effective teamwork and ensure smooth coordination among members.
  • Liaise with GYS and Cross-GCT:
    • Maintain active communication with Global Youth Structures (GYS) and cross-Global Coordination Teams (GCT) to share insights and strategies.

2. External Relations Coordinator

  • Digital Outreach & Media Management:
    • Identify appropriate digital platforms for uploading articles and hosting webinars.
    • Take charge of managing our social media channels to expand our reach.
  • Event Mapping:
    • Identify and map relevant energy-related events for strategic engagement.
  • Government & CSO Engagement:
    • Establish and nurture relationships with governmental bodies.
    • Identify and connect with local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to build a robust network.

. Energy Governance & Reform Coordinator

  • Position Development:
    • Refine and fine-tune our stance on UN Energy Governance initiatives.
    • Collaborate with other youth energy groups to draft new position papers.
  • Advocacy & Lobbying:
    • Lead lobbying efforts to influence energy governance reforms at various levels.
  • Content Framework Development:
    • Create frameworks for short articles and define authorship standards.
    • Expand and enhance our Energy Survey to better capture emerging trends and opinions.

4. Capacity Building Coordinator

  • Event Series & Program Development:
    • Develop and implement a successor event series to our successful Energy COP.
    • Oversee the planning and execution of the Energy Puzzle 2.0 and Energy Shots 2.0 series.
  • Inter-Group Synergy:
    • Map and facilitate synergies with other working groups to ensure a comprehensive approach to capacity building.

5. Communication & Outreach Initiatives

In addition to the primary responsibilities of the four coordinator roles, successful candidates will also support our Communication & Outreach efforts by:

  • Podcast Production:
    • Launching a 15-Minute Podcast series on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.
  • Dedicated Creators Team:
    • Coordinating with a rotating team of hosts and guests for each session.
  • Social Media Ambassadors:
    • Leading a call for Social Media Ambassadors to amplify our work online and enhance digital engagement.
