ABOUT THE GREBS FELLOWSHIP

The Gender-Responsive Education Budget and Spending (GREBS) is a project that advocates for a gender-responsive education budget allocations in Oyo and Gombe States to aid boys and girls’ access to free, safe, quality basic education in Nigeria. The fellowship is an arm of the project through which we aim to solidify our gender-responsive education budget advocacy and sensitization initiative. Fellows will be trained to become grassroots advocates who will conduct community-based sensitization activities to promote gender-responsive education budgeting and spending.

Location: Oyo and Gombe states.

Requirement

  • Demonstrate interest in gender equality, education, and/or budget advocacy 
  • Strong understanding of local community dynamics in either Oyo or Gombe State 
  • Must be resident in either of the target states 
  • Excellent communication skills in English and relevant local languages 
  • Experience in community mobilization, advocacy, or public engagement 
  • Proficient in report writing and documentation 
  • Computer literacy and ability to use basic office software 
  • Previous experience working with education stakeholders, budget tracking, or gender advocacy 
  • Knowledge of education sector policies and budgeting processes in Nigeria 
  • Experience in implementing community-based projects
