Job Title: Finance Officer

About the Job
The Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the organization’s financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions and assisting with reporting and reconciliation activities. The role ensures compliance with accounting standards and internal policies, while providing timely and accurate financial information to support decision making. The Finance Officer also collaborates with other teams to facilitate smooth financial operations and contributes to process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.
- Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and financial reports.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Support management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense tracking.
- Assist in automating and improving financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
- Prepare any other financial schedules or reports as required by management.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity and confidentiality in all financial processes.
- Collaborate with other teams and external partners to support operational and financial activities.
- Utilize MS Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting; use accounting software where applicable.
- Perform any other finance related duties assigned by the Accountant.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1 to 2 years of work experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk
- Professional Skills (E.g., ICAN/ACCA student member) is an added advantage.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Working knowledge of Accounting Software will be an added advantage.
- Resides in Kaduna.
