Job Description
- The Pharmacist is responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and proper management of medications within KTHSMB healthcare facilities.
- The role involves ensuring the safe and effective use of drugs, providing pharmaceutical care, reviewing prescriptions, and advising healthcare professionals and patients on medication use.
- The officer will also manage drug inventory, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and contribute to rational drug use and patient safety
Key Responsibilities
- Review and dispense prescriptions accurately and safely.
- Provide counseling to patients on medication use and adherence.
- Ensure proper storage and management of pharmaceutical supplies.
- Monitor drug interactions, side effects, and contraindications.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and drug inventory.
- Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and standards.
- Advise healthcare professionals on drug therapy and usage.
- Supervise pharmacy support staff and technicians.
- Conduct inventory control and prevent stockouts or expiries.
- Participate in hospital pharmacy and drug management committees.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or Pharm.D).
- NYSC Discharged / Exemption Certificate.
- Valid practicing license.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology and drug safety.
- Good communication and counseling skills.
- Relevant experience.
