Applications are now open for the 2027 FAO Regional Office for Africa (RAF) Internship Programme by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
The internship provides young women and men with an opportunity to gain practical work experience in areas related to FAO’s work while applying their academic knowledge in a professional environment.
Interns will contribute to FAO’s work supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the transformation of agri-food systems towards better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life.

Interns may be assigned to different fields depending on their academic profile and the needs of the organisation.
Candidates should have academic studies relevant to the mission and work of FAO.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree programme at the time of application or be a recent graduate.
- Have obtained their higher education qualification from an accredited or recognised institution listed in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
- Specialise in a field relevant to FAO’s mission and work.
- Be nationals of an FAO Member State.
- Be between 21 and 30 years old.
- Have working knowledge of at least one FAO language: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish.
- Be able to adapt to an international, multicultural environment.
- Have good communication skills.
Knowledge of a second FAO language is considered an asset.
