Applications are now open for the Green Africa Associates SDGs Innovations Fellowship 2026, a leadership and innovation programme aimed at empowering young Africans to develop practical solutions that contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The fellowship seeks to identify, nurture and support talented young people who are committed to driving sustainable development through innovative ideas, green entrepreneurship and impactful community-based solutions. By bringing together emerging changemakers from across the continent, the programme aims to strengthen Africa’s capacity to address social, economic and environmental challenges while accelerating progress toward the 17 SDGs.

About the Fellowship
The Green Africa Associates SDGs Innovations Fellowship is designed to create opportunities for young Africans to transform innovative concepts into actionable solutions that can contribute to sustainable development across communities, countries and the continent.
Recognising the important role that youth play in shaping Africa’s future, the fellowship focuses on equipping participants with the knowledge, skills, mentorship and support required to develop and implement ideas that address pressing development challenges.
The programme aligns with the global Sustainable Development Goals framework, encouraging applicants to develop initiatives that contribute to areas such as poverty reduction, quality education, climate action, gender equality, sustainable cities, clean energy, economic growth and environmental sustainability.
Fellowship Objective
The primary objective of the fellowship is to identify and support innovative young Africans who have ideas, projects or solutions capable of advancing one or more of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Through a structured fellowship experience, participants will have the opportunity to refine their concepts, strengthen their leadership capabilities and explore pathways for implementation and long-term impact.
Eligibility Criteria
The fellowship is open to young Africans who are passionate about creating positive change through innovation and sustainable development.
Applicants must:
• Be between 18 and 35 years old
• Be a citizen of an African country
• Demonstrate an interest in innovation and problem-solving
• Have a passion for green entrepreneurship and sustainability
• Show commitment to advancing sustainable development goals within their communities or sectors
The programme welcomes individuals from diverse academic, professional and entrepreneurial backgrounds who are working on ideas that can generate meaningful social, economic or environmental impact.
