Role and Purpose:

The ACET Regional Integration Program is seeking to recruit a graduate intern to support research, cross-country program coordination, business development, and other program-related activities. Specifically, the intern will provide research support for the program’s work on regional value chain development, while also supporting program implementation, partnerships, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

Job Summary 

The RI intern work program will broadly focus on providing support in research and analysis, program coordination, and stakeholder engagement.

Roles and Responsibilities 

 Specifically, the graduate intern will:

  • Support the project team in data collection and analysis and provide inputs to the drafting of research reports, including data interpretation and synthesis of findings.
  • Support cross-country coordination of the various projects and engage with relevant stakeholders during validation and dissemination of research findings. The nature of activities undertaken within each project will vary, depending on the progress made in the project.
  • Work with the program Lead to develop thought pieces, policy briefs and blogs to highlight key narratives and messages in regional integration and to make them easily accessible for policymakers.
  • Support the program in business development activities where required. This will include conducting background research for technical proposals.
  • Provide support to the program in other administrative-related tasks as required.

 Education/Experience 

  • Candidates should have a minimum of a post-graduate degree in Economics or any related field in the Social Sciences.
  • Past work experience and life experiences (volunteer, internships) with an emphasis on economic research, international development, or related fields will be a plus.
  • This position is ideal for recent graduates looking to gain experience whilst transitioning to the world of work. The role does not guarantee employment post-internship.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

  • Candidates should possess excellent research, data analysis and writing skills.
  • Candidates should possess good working knowledge of French.
  • Candidates should excel in team environments, and be comfortable working with limited oversight.

Personal

  • Candidates possess outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with colleagues, partners and government officials at all levels and from different cultures.
  • Ability to handle administrative tasks seamlessly
