About the Project
The Womanity Index 2026 Social Norms Study is a nationwide survey measuring the prevalence and strength of social norms associated with gender-based violence (GBV). The study will generate a state-by-state ranking of harmful and protective norms, providing policymakers, civil society, and development partners with a baseline tool to track normative change over time.
To achieve this, Invictus Africa will deploy enumerators across all states, supervised by qualified State Field Supervisors who will ensure data quality, ethical compliance, and smooth field operations.
Role Overview
Each State Field Supervisor will oversee 10 enumerators in their respective state, ensuring adherence to the study protocol, ethical standards, and data quality requirements. Supervisors will serve as the critical link between the field teams and the central research coordination unit.
Responsibilities
Orientation & Training
- Attend national orientation and training sessions on project objectives, survey tools, and ethical guidelines.
- Facilitate training and mentoring of enumerators in their state.
Supervision & Quality Control
- Oversee enumerators during household and community-level data collection.
- Conduct spot checks and daily reviews of data entries.
- Ensure adherence to standardized protocols and ethical practices.
Technical & Logistical Support
- Guide the use of electronic data collection tools (e.g., KoboCollect).
- Troubleshoot field challenges and escalate complex issues to the Central Coordination Team (CCT).
Communication & Reporting
- Maintain open communication with enumerators and the CCT
- Submit progress updates and weekly summary reports.
Ethical Oversight
- Ensure informed consent and confidentiality in all interviews.
- Report any ethical concerns or violations promptly.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Public Health and Health related discipline.
- At least 3 years’ experience in supervising large-scale data collection or public health/social research projects.
- Strong knowledge of GBV, gender equality, or public health issues.
- Proficiency in electronic data collection platforms (KoboCollect).
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
- Fluency in the local dialect of the state of application.
- Residency in the state of application (mandatory).
Deliverables
- Verified, high-quality datasets from enumerators in the assigned state.
- Supervision logs and weekly state-level progress reports.
