We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title:LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR HOSPITAL

 

Location:Gwoza,Borno

Job Tybe:Fixed Term Contract Starting with 6 months /level 6)

Main Purpose:

Supervising the daily logistics activities and providing maintenance to the MSF equipment, facilities and infrastructures, according to MSF standards and protocols in order to maintain the facilities in perfect conditions and collaborate in the development of the mission.

Job Description

 

  • Monitoring maintenance activities of infrastructures, management of non-medical stocks and equipment according to MSF standards

 

  • Ensuring the check and follow-up of facilities under the line manager’s supervision through daily visits to the facilities and reporting any anomalies or problems, evaluation of the rehabilitation needs and following up minor building rehabilitation work according to supervisor’s instructions; checking that premises observe security norms and monitoring the consumption of mechanical and electrical vehicles/machines/devices

 

  • Planning together with the line manager the required checks and maintenance activities of energy systems/set-up according to MSF standards
  • Coordinating and leading the logistics team under his/her responsibility which includes daily supervision,
  • monitoring of the quality of work and the definition of each person’s task,
  • drawing up their working schedules.
  • organizing and leading team meetings.
  • participating in the recruitment of team personnel and
  • attending logistics meetings and accounting for his activities
  • Ensuring the vehicle fleet maintenance which includes
  • planning and overseeing timely preventive and curative maintenance of all project vehicles according to MSF standards and
  • Instructing and monitoring drivers on correct driving habits and standard checks
  • Managing and following up orders which includes
  • collecting logistics orders coming from different departments or health facilities.
  • drawing up and following up orders according to the procedures in force.
  • providing technical support to the storekeeper, makes local purchases according to MSF supply procedures and ensures reception conditions of freight or arriving material as well as the organization and setting up of materials before its shipment

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

Human resource management

  •  Supervise management of the logistics team in the field.
  •  Prepare daily and weekly work schedules (rosters) for Hygiene agent, drivers and watchmen.
  •  Plans the annual leaves for log staff.
  •  Keep the daily attendance of log staff.

Construction and maintenance

  •  Supervises construction and rehabilitation taking place in the project.
  •  Carries out regular visits to each facility, evaluates rehabilitation and repair needs, reporting any problems to the line manager
  •  Checks the conformity of security norms in MSF premises
  •  Regularly checks the state of MSF structures – walls, roofs, electrical installations, water supply – in the Office /
  • Guest house / Log store / Pharmacy / ER Hospital
  •  Checks cleanliness of different open spaces (gardens, courtyards, etc)

Water and Sanitation

  •  Supervise the daily Watsan activities in the facilities and giving constructive support to the Watsan agent in the
  • hospital to guarantee high level of hygiene quality
  •  Daily check and ensure cleanliness of the grease traps, manhole, water taps, drainage lines of MSF structures.
  •  Manages vector control and spraying in the hospital, guest house and office as needed.
  •  Ensure IPC supervisor has enough IPC materials that keep the hospital up to hygiene basics.

Project Equipment inventory management

  •  Monthly update of the field equipment functionality and does necessary repair in his/her capacity.
  •  Responsible of the biomed equipment in the hospital and does the log part of service as in the protocol. Ensure correct use of all material.
  •  Prepare repair forms for assets.
  •  Close follow up with the mechanic the vehicles and generators service.
  •  Ensure that the security stock of fuel and other critical items are available and without rupture.

Transport

  •  Planning vehicles movements, tracking individual trips, and ensuring implementation of security measures IT and telecom
  •  Manages IT and telecom equipment in the project.
  •  Checks that radio and communication procedures are followed correctly
  •  Train staff on using radio.

Equipment repairs maintenance

  •  Ensure that the equipment (Communication, Energy Cold Chain, IT and others) are appropriately used and
  • maintained/serviced in the field to prevent breakdowns.
  •  Ensure that computer virus updates are done regularly.
  •  Follow up of equipment under repair in capital.
  •  Check the cleanliness of the items and are cover when not on use.

Requirements:

Education

• Diploma and formal technical training

Experience

• At least two years in MSF or 4 years in a similar post out of MSF

Languages

• Mission language and local language essential

Knowledge

• Desirable basic computer skills

Contract

208 working hours per month

Remuneration
