Logistics Officer (Hybrid) at Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN)


The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people. In particular, we aim to make healthier food choices more desirable, more available, and more affordable. GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially the most vulnerable to malnutrition.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Logistics Officer
Location: Abuja (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities
- Support the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, materials, and equipment in line with programme needs.
- Maintain accurate stock records and update inventory systems regularly
- Assist in tracking distribution of goods to field locations and ensure all supporting documentation is complete
- Ensure proper tagging, tracking, and documentation of assets.
- Maintain organised and audit-ready logistics records and filing systems.
- In collaboration with the Fleet Coordinator implement improvements to logistics processes and systems.
- liaise with the transport and repairs services.
- Support monitoring of vendor performance and report issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain and update the asset register for logistics-related equipment and tools.
- Assist in coordinating daily fleet activities, including vehicle allocation and movement tracking through logbooks.
- Monitor fuel usage and report inconsistencies to the supervisor.
- Assist in coordinating routine vehicle servicing, repairs, and maintenance.
- Support travel arrangements for staff and transportation of goods
- Maintain up-to-date records for vehicles, including insurance, registration, and inspection documents.
- Support implementation of safety procedures and report incidents promptly
About You
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven experience managing logistics operations, fleet, procurement, warehousing, inventory, vehicle maintenance, scheduling and distribution, with a strong ability to plan, track, and optimise deliveries for maximum efficiency.
- The candidate should have excellent understanding of donor compliance and supply procedures, communication and interpersonal skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, and Excel, and have the ability to prioritise multiple tasks while consistently delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
- The candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively across teams while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Experience working in an NGO or donor-funded organisation will be an advantage.
Salary
NGN 9,856,248 – N11,255,100 annually.
