Enumerator at Taimaka Project


The Taimaka Project is currently seeking to engage qualified and motivated individuals to work as Enumerators for a short-term nutrition survey in Jigawa State, Nigeria. This opportunity is ideal for candidates who are passionate about public health, community engagement, and data collection within humanitarian and development-focused environments.

DURATION:
2–3 weeks (short-term field assignment)
COMPENSATION:
A competitive daily stipend will be provided to support field activities
ROLE OVERVIEW:
Selected Enumerators will support the implementation of a community-based nutrition survey by collecting accurate and reliable household data. They will play a vital role in identifying vulnerable children and contributing to interventions aimed at improving nutrition outcomes across the target communities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct household surveys using structured questionnaires
• Collect and record data electronically using ODK (Open Data Kit)
• Carry out MUAC (Mid-Upper Arm Circumference) measurements and oedema screening
• Identify and refer undernourished children to designated nutrition centers
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality at all times
• Strictly adhere to survey protocols and ethical standards during fieldwork
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
• Fluency in Hausa and English (spoken and written) is mandatory
• Knowledge of Fulfulde language is an added advantage
• Must own and be proficient in using an Android smartphone
• Must reside within one of the listed survey locations
• Willingness to travel within assigned communities for field activities
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
