Title:Data Coders
LOCATION:Abuja, Nigeria (Hybrid)
JOB TYPE:Contract/Ad hoc
We are seeking Coders who will support the qualitative analysis process by systematically coding transcribed interviews and focus group discussions using predefined or emerging themes. He/ She will work under the guidance of the data analyst or research lead.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review transcripts and develop a deep understanding of the data
- Apply coding frameworks to identify patterns, themes, and categories
- Use qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, Atlas Ti, or Dedoose) as instructed
- Collaborate with the research team to refine codes and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain a codebook and document coding decisions
- Support in the interpretation of coded data for report writing
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Public Health, Education, or a related field
- Prior experience in qualitative data coding or content analysis
- Familiarity with qualitative software (NVivo, Dedoose, Atlas Ti, etc.) is highly desirable
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work with large volumes of text and identify key themes
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Knowledge of the local context and language(s) is an advantage.
