Key Responsibilities:
Innovation Strategy
· Define the innovation roadmap to accelerate sustainable intensification, yield improvement and climate smart agriculture
· Identify high-impact technologies (IoT sensors, precision farming drones, AI analytics, block chain traceability)
· Evaluate emerging trends (biotech, soil microbiome, renewable energy on farms)
Technology Implementation
· Oversee digital transformation initiatives ERP, supply chain traceability, mobile apps for farmers, data platforms
· Champion the deployment of digital tools and mobile applications that improve farmer engagement, productivity, and access to services.
· Integrate fintech and digital banking solutions tailored to smallholder farmers and value chain actors, enabling access to payments, credit, savings, and insurance.
· Collaborate with Tech partners, startups, research centers and universities to pilot new solutions
R&D & Product Development
· Steer R&D on varietals, seed treatments, bio-inputs, sustainable packaging and value – added product innovation
· Ensure cross-functional integration between R&D, operations and commercial teams
Innovation Culture Talent
· Build an innovation team with product owners, data scientists, agronomists and engineers
Establish ideation processes, innovation sprints and incubation pipelines
· Promote continuous learning and adoption of best practices
Qualifications
● 7+ years in technology leadership, innovation management or R&D, preferably in Ag-tech
● Strong experience with digital platforms, data analytics, and emerging tech ecosystems
● Ability to balance experimentation with operational execution
