The organization envisions Black and Brown women+ at the forefront of environmental decision-making, shaping solutions to mitigate environmental barriers and improve community well-being across the U.S.

Organizational Background

Founded in 2019 by climate activist Diamond Spratling, GPE is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to increasing representation and leadership for communities most impacted by environmental issues. The organization focuses on closing gaps in access, leadership, and decision-making.

Role Purpose

GPE is seeking a highly skilled Grant Writer & Development Specialist to:

• Write and submit successful grant proposals
• Support the Executive Director in cultivating relationships with donors and foundations
• Strengthen overall development strategies

The position is a six-month contract with potential for extension. The application deadline is January 12, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Draft and submit high-quality grant proposals, including collecting and developing supplemental materials
• Ensure timely submission and compliance with grantor requirements

• Assist the ED in donor cultivation and relationship management
• Collaborate on public awareness materials such as pitch decks, impact reports, and one-pagers

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven success in securing six-figure grants through grant writing
• Experience with federal grant applications (e.g., grants.gov, login.gov)
• Nonprofit sector experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a robust network of funding contacts
