The Big Data Summer Immersion at Yale (BDSY) is a prestigious, intensive, and interdisciplinary program designed to prepare the next generation of students and future leaders to address complex challenges in health-related big data.
BDSY equips undergraduate students with hands-on experience and foundational skills needed to apply big data analytics to human health.
The program integrates expertise from biostatistics, statistics, engineering, epidemiology, computer science, and data science, creating a unique learning environment that bridges theory with practical health applications.
Open to both U.S. and international students, the Big Data Summer Immersion Program provides participants with an in-depth understanding of data-driven research in healthcare and public health.

Eligibility Criteria
- Undergraduate Students: All currently enrolled undergraduate students are eligible to apply.
- Graduating Seniors: Eligible to apply; however, priority is given to rising juniors and seniors.
- International Students: Applications are welcome. Limited scholarships are available for international applicants through non-NIH funding.
- Residency: Open to students from all U.S. states and international locations, not limited to Connecticut residents.
Program Benefits
Selected participants will receive comprehensive funding, including:
- Free accommodation throughout the program
- $1,600 stipend
- Up to $750 in travel support
- $750 meal plan allowance
