Applications are now open for the 2025 Songhai/Mastercard Integrated Agriculture Scholarship. The Mastercard Foundation in collaboration with Songhai is calling on interested young individuals to apply for the Songhai/Mastercard Integrated Agriculture Scholarship.

The Songhai/Mastercard Youth Agricultural Empowerment Scheme is aimed at training and Seeding over 3,000 young Nigerians in agriculture; particularly 70% of young women within the next 3 years as modern farm managers/technicians, and agro-entrepreneurs.

This innovative partnership is announcing the first of a series of a three-month training program; that will cover key areas in agro-business; which aims to create opportunities for African youths by setting out an ambitious goal for the next decade.

Application is ongoing for this 3-month Boot Camp in sustainable farming methods and hands-on experience in agriculture for modern farm managers/technicians, and agro-entrepreneurs.

Participants will be trained in any of the following agricultural branches;

  • Crop Production
  • Animal Husbandry
  • Aquaculture
  • Food Processing

Participation Criteria

  • Participants must be between 18-35 years of age
  • Participants must have started an agricultural Venture or are passionate about starting one.
  • Participants must be able to travel to Ebony or Owerri
  • Participants should have a support Structure to enable successful implementation after the training and certification.
  • Participants must commit to starting or scaling agro venture after the training.Program Benefits
